President: Chloe Langham

Hi, I’m Chloe and I’m really excited to be president for 2018/19. I joined DUCB in my first year at Durham as an oboist. In my second year I took on the role of Associate Conductor. My role this year involves chairing the Exec meetings, representing DUCB within Music Durham, organising the rehearsals and concerts, and generally making sure that the rest of the Exec are doing their job and the band has a fantastic year! I look forward to welcoming you to our concerts!

Hello, my name is Sean and I’ve got the privilege of conducting Concert Band for 2018/19. In the last two years, I’ve had great opportunities playing with university ensembles and brass bands local to Durham, but I’m very much looking forward to expanding my horizons by being a part of DUCB. As Conductor my role on the exec means I work closely with Thomas with aims to balance fun rehearsals with high quality performances. I hope to see lots of you throughout the year whether you’re a player or a supporter!!!

Hello, I am Thomas and I am the Associate Conductor for DUCB this year! That basically means that I work with Sean to conduct rehearsals, pick music and generally direct the band musically! I did my undergrad at Warwick where I got involved in lots of music, conducting multiple ensembles and ending up as principal trumpet of their wind band. Since I arrived in Durham for my PhD in physics I have been involved in both the concert band and brass band. I hope that people will enjoy DUCB this year, whether you are an ensemble member or supporter!

Hi, I'm Tom and I'm the treasurer of DUCB for 2018/19. Since I joined the band in 2017 I've loved every minute of it so being on the exec should make it more enjoyable. My role is to organise where the band spend it's money. I hope all our members and supporters will enjoy DUCB as much as I do!
